Flight Training Programs

New Era Flight Services currently provides training programs for the following FAA Pilot Certificates:

  • Sport Pilot Certificate
  • Private Pilot Certificate
  • Commercial Pilot Certificate
  • Instrument Rating

Requirements for Sport Pilot Certificate:

  • Minimum of Twenty Hours Flight Time
    –Fifteen with Certified Flight Instructor
    –Five Hours Solo  (Flying Alone)
  • Two Hours Cross-country Flying
    –Seventy-five Nautical Miles or Greater
    –Part of the Minimum Twenty Hours of Flight Time
  • Pass FAA Knowledge Test
    –Thirty Questions
    –Achieve 70%t or Better Score
  • Three Hours Flight Time
    –Preparation for FAA Practical Test (Check ride)
    –Part of the Minimum Twenty Hours of Flight Time
  • Pass the FAA Practical Test
  • Present Valid Automobile Driver’s License or Third Class Medical Certificate
    –Proof of Medical Health

Requirements for Private Pilot Certificate:

  • Study and Pass FAA Knowledge Test*;
    –70% or Better is Necessary
    –Sixty out of 790 Possible Questions
    –Duration of Private Pilot Airplane Test is 2.5 Hours
